TS Prince Leopold was launched in November 1929 but was sunk in July 1944 off the Isle of Wight by a German torpedo. Aboard the vessel was Kenneth George Drederick Sewell, a RNVR sub-lieutenant who wrote a rich and evocative account of the incident. His son, Jamie Sewell, has kindly shared this account. Volunteer Roger Burns has also written an in-depth history of the vessel here.
