Find the museum

We are on the A3056 between Newport and Sandown. If using navigation software enter the postcode; PO30 3AA Get Directions (External link)

Park at the main car park or the overflow car parks in the field and walk up the path past the Corn Exchange, Sweet Memories and Craft Island. The Museum and main entrance is at the end of the path, opposite the carp pond and next to the 12th Century church.


Parking is free for all visitors to Arreton Barns and the Shipwreck Centre and Maritime Museum.


Southern Vectis operates a bus service that stops outside Arreton Barns. Please use route 8 Newport-Ryde and visit the Southern Vectis website for current timetables and updated travel information.

The Arreton Barns Craft Village complex also supports a real-ale pub, a 12th Century church, duck pond, village green, numerous craft rooms, a glass works, farm shop and a sweet shop.

The Shipwreck Centre and Maritime Museum caters for visitors of all ages. For our younger audience we provide complimentary activities such as our popular 'Treasure Hunt' and 'Pirate Trail' worksheets or our 'Crack the Code' adventure. Participating children receive a free prize for completed activities. Our family ticket at £12 is great value and allows you your family to experience our maritime history.

Hire the Shipwreck Centre

We provide a bespoke service for event hire such as childrens or adult birthday parties, including evening and day events. The space allows 10-60 guests to mingle, enjoy the exhibitions or attend a sit down dinner. We also provide a meeting room for hire with optional catering.
